This classic lake house, built in the 1950's features an awesome view of Lake Murray. The old house has served the family well over the years, bu it needed to be expanded to be more accommodating as the family grew. The 1,600 square foot addition to the existing house features three new bedrooms, an office and laundry room and five new bathrooms. Below the addition is a full garage. The space in the existing house - two bedrooms, the kitchen and a wrap-around interior porch were also fully renovated.
The old shingle siding was removed from the existing house and cement lap siding was added. All new sindows and exterior doors were also added. The front entry was changed to include a new porch with tongue-and-groove cypress ceilings and an aluminum handrail.
The original house had old, vertical pine paneling which was painted white as part of the renovation. To blend the old with the new, paneling was continued down the entire length of the hallway into the new addition. Oak hardwood flooring was also added throughout.
Each bedroom now has a dedicated bath with custom vanities, tile flooring, and tile showers. The kitchen features all new custom cabinets, granite countertops, and all new appliances. Lighting upgrades, completed throughout the house, include can lighting along with under-cabinet puck lighting.
With all of the changes and improvements, this classic weekend retreat will be home to many future generations.
