This whole house remodel had many aspects. The customer desired to create a bit more openness in the central area, as well as update the remainder of the home. Highlights of the improvements include opening up the kitchen area into the great room, removing the closed in / divided feeling of the space. This entailed removal of a section of load-bearing walls and engineering proper load transfer with the existing ceiling framing in the great room.
The entire kitchen area we remodeled including taking the existing finishes down to the studs, removing an unused pantry, building custom cabinetry that accommodated the high-end appliances and large island, finishing off the cabinets with Calcutta Gold counter-tops and an eye catching back-splash tile.
Each bathroom in the house was remodeled to fit the needs and aesthetic desire the customer envisioned. This included a freestanding tub in the master, beautiful Calcutta Gold counter-tops, new plumbing fixtures and marble tile throughout. In addition to these bath remodels, a half bath was added in the garage as to allow easy access to the facilities from the pool and outdoor entertaining areas. All hardwood flooring in the home was refinished.
The outside of the home was also improved in this remodel. The exterior of the home was painted, gutter color and style was upgraded and the single-door entry was changed to a double-door entry to better fit the style of the home. In the back yard, a pergola was built near the pool and a free standing tool shed that matches the home was added.
