Wise Guys Home Improvement was contacted by the homeowner to add and all-weather area that she could use in every season and to entertain in. The space was to be an attached screened porch measuring 16' by 26'. The client visited several previous projects by Wise Guys and loved the open-concept of an outdoor living area. She also appreciated exposed rafters and beams, and high ceilings. The client and remodelers met with a draftsman to draw out the vision and work began.
Before and During Construction:
Wise Guys extended the existing roof line and pitch of the screened porch, with a peak ceiling height to 16 feet. The rafters and beams were exposed, stained and weather-proofed. THe floor is tongue and groove kiln-dried pressure treated wood flooring that was stained to match the rafters. This design was meant to bring the indoors outside and provide collegiality between the house and the porch.
Since the completion of the space, the client has mounted a TV, created a cozy space for all-weather enjoyment, and is very pleased with her desire turned reality. With two ceiling-mounted fans, air moves nicely through the area, and is a wonderful addition to her already beautiful home.
