Large Bath - Capital Kitchen and Bath
This open loft style bedroom space was transformed to a private master retreat with a spa-inspired master bath.
This project was at the top of a stairway and had open railing and a walkway, making the closet and bedroom partly viewable from the lower living room. Capital Kitchen & Bath was able to expand the space by removing the railing and building a floor-to-ceiling wall, creating a private master suite.
The original bathroom had wasted space and was not functional. The shower area had a small access door and low ceiling. It was cavernous and every sound echoed throughout the space. The homewoner was ready for a change.
Entering the new bathroom, you see a sink cabinet with wall mounted faucet and abundant drawer storage, and a tall linen cabinet that provides easily accessible storage, while the LED lighted mirror with magnifying area provides an ease of use element that was much needed.
The remodelers were able to open the shower wall and remove the dropped ceiling to create a spa like wet-room, housing a shower with multiple heads and custom linear drain, and a free-standing tub, all in one dedicated wet space. Encasing the wet room area are mosaic stone walls, custom storage cubbies, glass tiles, and a large window is trimmed out in quartz to create a waterproof spa-like retreat.
By redesigning the bathroom space and closing in the loft, the Master Bedroom was also reinjuvinated. This space is an inviting spa-like retreat with maximized storage and everyday living. What used to be just a routine shower can now be an escape from reality! The gained functionality is above and beyond.
