After working for over 30 years, the Powell’s were ready for retirement. They realized that by entering into this new stage in their lives they would be spending more time at home, more time with family and grandchildren. This also meant that they needed to make some upgrades and changes to several rooms of their house. Three of these rooms included the kitchen, Master Bath and Hall Bath.
For the kitchen, we removed Formica countertops, white appliances, and laminate flooring. Existing custom cabinets were updated with new doors and painted an elegant white. New granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and ceramic tile flooring was installed. The existing bar was raised and custom wood brackets were installed to support the new granite overhang. The space was finished off with new custom cabinetry, spotlights and pendant lights to make a new, updated and sophisticated kitchen.
With the kitchen complete, the homeowners asked us to update the master bathroom. Out with the golf fixtures, plain white tile with dark grout, plain white cabinets with cultured marble tops and outdated wallpaper. The new bathroom features a new tile floor, tile shower and tile tub surround with tumbled rock detail. There’s a new frameless glass door, new rich wood cabinets with a granite top and a fresh coat of paint. A cedar seat was installed in the shower and a new stained glass window replaced the window above the garden tub.
Finally, the hall bathroom needed work. The existing tile flooring was replaced, we removed the old cultured marble countertops, sink and faucet and installed new granite tops and fixtures. We removed the old wallpaper and repainted the space. Finally, we reglazed the stained fiberglass tub to make it look as good and new as the rest of the space.
