This family is growing, but their lovely Shandon home was not. At just under 1,500 square feet, the parents of a baby girl wanted more space in the home and a better way to enjoy the generous back yard. They hired Cliff Cinamon of Design & Remodeling Solutions to design and remodel their home. Items to be included in the remodel and addition were a new master suite with a large bathroom and His & Hers walk-in closets, the removal of a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room and creating an open plan plus add a pantry and laundry room, create a playroom/office/overflow guest room and open up an existing hallway, and add new outdoor living space in the yard.
Design & Remodeling Solutions took all of these requests and designed a beautiful new home with everything the homeowners wanted, and more, despite hot water and gas lines being in the way, and despite finding bad wiring throughout the home (which was replaced). The resulting home is just over 2,000 square feet with a seamless transition from the original structure to the new addition. A special sliding "barn door" was custom made and installed in the hallway to serve as a divider for the playroom/office/overflow bedroom and is a great centerpiece of the home... our judges even refered to this as "The Barn Door House" for the rest of the day.
