One of the nice features of this home is the view from the rear of home through the trees and to a small lake below. Based on the elevation change, you get the sensation that you are in the mountains. In an effor to highlight that amazing view, the homeowners decided to add a sun room and dining room to the rear of their home.
The sun room has a vaulted ceiling and a full wall of windows. Wide plank heart pine flooring was installed, and a set of french doors that the homeowners had obtained were used to tie the two spaces together. A side door from the sun room leads to an elevated Trex deck and pocket doors were installed in the kitchen, to allow the dining room to be closed. Below the sun room, a nice space for future use was also added.
Like a lot of older homes, this home did not have a master bath that had the size, space or conveniences that the homeowner wanted. A full master bath with walk-in closet was added to the master bedroom to provide these features. The bathroom features a tile shower, a drop-in tub, a custom vanity with granite countertops and tile floors. The walk-in closet features hardwood floors and custom cabinets/storage. Below the bathroom, a space for a workshop and storage was added.
This was basically an addition of new space, but here is the back of the home before addition:
