The Choate's original kitchen was dated, confined, and did not have adequate space or functionality. The renovation involved eliminating an interior wall that opened the kitchen into the family room. The footprint was also expanded for additional space and to add a nice walk-in pantry.
The kitchen features custom cabinets, granite countertops, tile backsplash, and under cabinet lighting. The focal point of the kitchen, a large island, is painted a different color fromt he other cabinets and features a different granite top. Along with pendant lighting, this creates a nice accent piece at the center of the kitchen. A gas stove, a stainless steel hood, and new stainless steel appliances were added. Can lighting was added along with oak hardwood flooring to complete the renovation. This all ties in nicely with the vaulted ceilings added in the family room.
