Julie and Bill Latham's house was at ground zero after the devastating floods that hit Columbia in October 2015. Although not at the forefront of their thinking in early October, they embraced the challenge of renovating an entire house after going through essentially a total loss of their first floor.
The renovation included replacing sheet rock walls, installing all new white oak hardwood flooring and new custom cabinets in additio to painting the entire interior of the house. A few modifications were made to the layout which included his and hers walk-in closets and a nice walk-in pantry. A low knee wall was also removed in the kitchen to create a more open concept. Highlights of the kitchen include custom cabinets with under cabinet lighting and granite countertops with a matching granite backsplash. A large island was designed into the space and featues granite countertops and some nice cabinetry detail.
The master bath was rearranged to allow for a larger double vanity and a larger shower. The custom cabinets, granite vanity top, custom mirrors, floor tile as well as floor-to-ceiling tile in the shower made this bathroom a real showplace!
With a positive attitude and a can-do spirit, the Latham's now have a fully renovated home that is both very functional and truly beautiful.
