The original kitchen in this home was dated, lacked functionality, and was closed off from the family room. THe renovation involved eliminating an interior wall that opened the kitchen into the family room. The footprint was also expanded into an old breezeway to create a mud room and additional pantry space.
The kitchen features custom cabinets, granite countertops, tile backsplash and under-cabinet lighting. The focal point of the kitchen, a large island, is painted a different color from the other cabinets. Along with pendant lighting, this creates a nice piece at the center of the kitchen. A gas stove, a custom vent hood and new stainless steel appliances were also added. Can lighting was added along with oak hardwood flooring to complete the renovation. This all ties in nicely with the vaulted ceilings added in the family room.
