Residential Construction Project Manager / Superintendent

Hurricane Builders is gearing up for a GIANT growth spurt and is adding several Residential Construction Project Managers / Superintendents to its team!  
Through direct supervision and by exercising independent judgment, the residential construction project manager / superintendent is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all construction activities in an assigned location(s) to ensure consistent methods are being followed and desired results are achieved in terms of quality, consistency and timeliness.  This position is responsible for providing customer care to home-buyers which results in a high level of customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)

  • Supervision of the construction process and management of all subcontractors to include scheduling, mission deadlines, installation and quality control.
  • Responsible for conducting Pre-construction meetings, Pre-drywall orientations, New Home Orientations and warranty appointments with home buyers.
  • Provide home buyers with excellent service and regular updated on the construction process, scheduling and general home building communications.
  • Maintain schedule for each building according to a designated start schedule in assigned neighborhood(s).
  • Ensures each house is 100% complete for Quality Walk.
  • Examine and inspect work progress and construction sites to verify that safety, construction and performance standards are being met.
  • Complete all inspections on time and complete all required paperwork.
  • Maintain all records and field ledgers as required by Hurricane Builders, both manually and electronically.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other members of the Production team, customers/clients, and trade partners.
  • Report material and delivery issues, both quantity and quality, to the Production Management team and proactively communicate any construction, customer service or safety issues.
  • Attend team meetings as scheduled by Production Management team.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Marketing/Design Studio to ensure coordination and problem solving between the respective organization.

Qualifications, Requirements and Experience:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Spanish language skills are helpful.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Residential construction project management experience.
  • 3-5 years of home-building experience required.

Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Knowledgeable about the construction industry including construction cost, materials, products, methods and procedures.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the trades, crafts and equipment needed to complete the job, plus the ability to identify potential problems.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with blueprints, construction drawings and addendum and reading same required.
  • Ability to review, analyze and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot to solve problems.
  • Computer literacy, proficiency with Gmail, Excel, Word, and ability to learn new programs as needed.
